Ever feel uninspired?

3 ways i stay inspired

I am not sure about you, but I usually work crazy long hours behind the chair. Because of all the time spent “doing hair” sometimes my inspiration gets run down and I feel like the truth about why I started doing hair can occasionally gets lost. It is not a good feeling to be uninspired, however I have developed some habits in my career to help sustain my hunger and drive to keep pushing for growth. I hope you can find some value in these three little hacks that have helped me.

  1. NEVER LOOK FOR INSPIRATION IN YOUR INDUSTRY

This one may trigger a few people, but I have always found that diving into my industry has only lead me to comparing myself to others and becoming dissatisfied with the awesome life I am currently living. Instead look elsewhere to be inspired and allow your mindset to shift into a direction that will motivate you to be someone unique in your own way.

  2. MAKE TIME TO JOURNAL AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE

If you are in the hair world you know exactly how many emotions can be expressed to us on a daily basis. Because we deal with so many people each week, make sure and take time to potentially write down some thoughts about how YOU ARE DOING! I have found this to help me a lot, mainly because I am actually making time for my own emotions and thoughts. It has been quite therapeutic for my outlook towards haircutting.

  3. MAKE WORK FUN IN AS MANY WAYS YOU CAN

A large reason I started cutting hair is for the amazing time I get to spend with so many incredible people. This means I love my job every day. If you do not love where you work or how you feel at work; look for ways to change that and develop habits to make work a blast. For me it’s listening to a podcast before work with a cup of coffee, just to get my mind right.
